The Gospel according to George…

At the Bible Week I had the extreme honour of speaking to the Youth. I regarded it as an immense privilege as there before me were, to me, the most important people at the whole of the week – the next generation of the Church, future leaders, future prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists – future apostles

The theme, as for the whole Bible Week, was ‘see above and beyond’ – God quickly spoke to me that they must see themselves from above and beyond, who they really are and as they do that then everything else will take on a different perspective, namely God’s own.

I just wanted to share with you one of the things that I shared with them – the gospel according to George. George Foreman to be more specific. Well known as a top boxer with a career spanning decades, a heavy-weight champion in his own right, George Foreman also has a vast empire of products that he has successfully backed and perhaps none is more well known than his ‘Lean, Mean Fat-reducing Machine.’

The story in a nutshell is this. George was looking for products to market and he saw this as a product that would change the world. Instantly he bought it and put everything he had into it, his money, his time, his effort and most importantly – his name. Who may have seen the advert:

“I’m so proud of it, I put my name on it!”

And every “George Foreman Lean, Mean, Fat-reducing Machine” comes with his name inscribed on the top.

The point I made was this – that’s what God has done for you and I! Before he uttered a creative word He knew us! He knew all about us and was so excited about us that he put His Name ON us! We’ve been stamped with a seal of approval. Yet it’s more than that, He has put His mighty Name IN us – the internal seal of His Holy Spirit.

George Foreman put everything on the line and invested all he had to make his product a reckoning force in the high street ahops. GOD so loved you and I that he sent his only sonhis only son! – and put into us His Holy Spirit that we might be the light of the world, the salt of the earth – the only hope to all the world!

I have a passion that the Body of Christ would see themselves as God sees them – what the Bible says they are, their real identity in Christ Jesus! Should you ever feel down or feel unworthy because of circumstance or sayings, remember this: You are God’s workmanship, His Master-piece (Eph 2:10) created for purpose, created for great things in Jesus!

He’s so proud of you, He loves you so much that He has given you His Holy Spirit and His put His Name on you and in you!

Now go gettem!

So happy for you that you got the opportunity to preach to the youth. Much Respect!!

Your opportunity is both proof that we are the next generation of world changers and also that we are going to influence the generation to follow us.

    Keep it real!
