2 Simple things…

Happy Monday everyone! Came into work this morning to hear the news that the power at work had blown over the weekend shorting out our central server, frying the mother board in the process – joy! Not what you need to hear walking through the door

However, I’m grateful that this morning the Holy Spirit had taken me to psalm 37, actually one of my favourites. It follows on from a great word from Andrew Caughey, at All Nations Church yesterday, on Psalm 27 about waiting on and trusting in God.

Psalm 37 verse 3 in particular says this: “Trust in the Lord and do good.”

Two simple things!

(1) Trust in the Lord & (2) Do good.

That’s something we can all do everyday.

1) “Trust in the Lord – it’s going to be okay! Andrew said yesterday that bad things will happen (the Bible never says that they won’t) but we don’t need to go looking for them but instead fix our eyes on the Lord because everything is in his hands. John 16:33 comes to mind, Jesus said “in this world you will have trials and trouble but, FEAR NOT for I have overcome the world!” Trust in the Lord – it is only in him that we overcome.

2) “and do good – why would we do otherwise? Today I vow again to do good to all people. To say nice and encouraging things. To think positive and good thoughts about the people I work with and in every decision I will do good. In our midweek groups we, as a church, have been looking at the aspects of love contained in 1 Corinthians 13 – I want my life to operate in within these parameters be they words, thought or deed. I will do good.

And the promises are there for all who heed the Word of God and put into action in their lives. Here’s Psalm 37:3 in full from the Amplified version:

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.”

Trust in the Lord and do good – and you will feast on his faithfulness and be well fed as you dwell in the land!

Have a great day and a great week! Try out these two simple things, transform your thoughts and your actions and you will see each and every day produce good things in your life and your life will get better and better!
