I'm glad that we're not able to know everything or be able to understand all that God is and all that God does. That way, each day is always new, each time we catch a glimpse of Him we aren't comfortable. Each time he reveals something of His nature we stand in awe without familiarity. We can gaze on Jesus and always know more and more but we will not know everything, until that day (1 John 3:2) when we will be like him….

"You are beautiful beyond description, too marvellous for words. Too wonderful for comprehension. Like nothing ever seen or heard. Who can grasp your infinite wisdom? Who can fathom the depths of your love? You are beautiful beyond description! Majesty, enthroned above! And I stand I stand, in awe of you. Yes I stand, I stand in awe of you. Holy God to whom all praise is due, I stand in awe of you." – Mark Altrogge
"A comprehended god is no god at all" – St. John Crysostom

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." – 1 Corinthians 2:9

Absolutely right. A God we could formulate and fully comprehend would make such a God our equal – or our inferior. We must never forget there is and always be an ulimate difference between the Creator and his creation; he is altogether wholly Other.
